Wait times to see a Dermatologist in Ottawa are far longer than in any other Canadian city, and it is only getting worse.
Experienced Dermatologists are retiring faster than new ones can replace them and too many are leaving to work elsewhere.
The Ottawa Hospital has a funding shortage, making it difficult to fund clinics and hire Dermatologists and staff to support them.
We’ll support and expand our clinics at The Ottawa Hospital and other sites that offer research, training, and education opportunities.
We’ll increase the number of trained Dermatologists in Ottawa, and entice them to stay when they begin to practice on their own.
Through generous donations, we’ve built a new, first-of-its-kind dermatology centre inside The Ottawa Hospital, where we treat everything from skin cancers to psoriasis to dermatitis, and conduct cutting-edge research.
